"I'm always very tentative to say this was the best one. But I think this is probably the best one I've ever made," he said of the wall-climbing grab, according to Martín Gallegos of MLB.com.

Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel certainly agreed after being robbed of what appeared to be a home run.

"I sat here for like 10 minutes watching over and over," he said. "A bunch of my friends sent it to me. It stings. But it's kind of like I get a little part of history with it, because we'll see that catch for years and years."

The Angels ultimately won the game 7-4 behind a gem from starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi. Schanuel added two hits and an RBI.

Clarke, 25, has burst onto the scene as one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball as a rookie. He's already been worth eight outs above average with a fielding run value of seven.

The Toronto native also ranks 94th percentile in sprint speed.

Game two of the clubs' three-game series gets underway Tuesday night.
