The New England Patriots will unveil a statue of legendary quarterback Tom Brady outside Gillette Stadium on Aug. 8 prior to their first preseason game against the Washington Commanders, the team announced Thursday.
The announcement comes June 12, which the franchise considers "Tom Brady Day" to honor the number of Super Bowl titles he won with the Pats (six) and his jersey number (12).

New England retired Brady's jersey and inducted him into the team's Hall of Fame in June 2024. Patriots owner Robert Kraft originally announced that the franchise planned to unveil a 12-foot bronze statue of the QB later in 2024. However, the club postponed its plans due to scheduling conflicts with Brady, who became the lead NFL color commentator for Fox last year.
Brady built the greatest career in NFL history after the Patriots drafted him 199th in 2000. In addition to winning six rings, the three-time MVP rewrote New England's record books by ing for 74,571 yards and 541 touchdowns in 285 regular-season games.
The Patriots and Brady parted ways at the end of the 2019 season. He then posted a three-year stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, lifting another Lombardi Trophy before retiring after the 2022 campaign.
